What will you do?
As a Magento developer, you will be working on both client projects as well as internal projects. All project code is maintained within Git repositories and is deployed via CI to various test, staging and production environments.
Client projects include:
- New Magento 2 builds
- Migrations from Magento 1 to Magento 2
- New Features on existing Magento installations
- Ongoing maintenance of existing Magento installations and existing integrations
Internal projects include:
- New module development for internal and external distribution
- Ongoing maintenance and feature development for existing modules
- Maintaining and improving internal systems
Your weekly tasks will be coordinated by your project manager in the form of issues. Each morning they have a brief stand-up to review progress on the previous day’s tasks, before outlining the objectives of the day.
Who are they looking for?
All of their team members have a deep, robust knowledge of Magento, in fact some of them have been working with the platform for almost a decade.
They appreciate that everybody walks a different path, but there are a few things they think all new mid-level developers will need to be competent in to enjoy working with them.
As a result, you must be familiar with Magento, having either a minimum of 2 years active experience with the platform or having successfully completed the Magento certification program.
You should have a good working knowledge of modern PHP design patterns and tooling.
You should have a good working knowledge of modern JS design patterns (as well as some old ones) and tooling.
You should be familiar with Git and repository management systems like GitHub, GitLab, etc.
You should be comfortable with Linux and working with the command line.
